Ku’un Aru

When I first opened this book and saw that the author had combined Huna, NLP, and energy work, my mind lit up like a Christmas tree! "WOW! Someone's finally put it together. I just KNEW this was the ultimate collection of technologies!"

As I skimmed the first few pages, I could see that English was not the author's first language, as there are several grammatical errors along the way. However, this is not a real problem and so I came back to the beginning to read through more thoroughly.

Ku’un Aru makes it clear that in order to absorb his message, you have to approach the book and it's material with an open mind and a willingness to do the exercises he presents throughout the text. This is not unlike my own Keys To Power - Step by Step course. With either of these texts, reading is not enough and results come only with effort.

As we get further into the book, Ku’un Aru presents some of the science behind the energy that we work with and interlaces it with the metaphysical traditions of chakras, meridians, and auras. This is where we come to the first of 16 exercises, one designed to train you to feel psychic energy with your hands.

Several other exercises follow, and then we get into a discussion of how working with the energy of other people can affect the energy-worker. At this point in the book, I'm reminded of the difference between "low-magick" and "high-magick" and how low-magick focuses on energy and high-magick focuses on universal forces. Seems the author is focused on low-magick, at least in this part of the book. Okay, there's more coming, so I'll wait and see what's ahead.

Next, we get into NLP and we have a couple of 'techniques' (the numbering system continues from the 'exercises', which is confusing at first, but something else that is minor and unimportant) that give you tools for reducing fear and conquering phobias. Good stuff, and with proven historical evidence.

Before we get much into the NLP stuff, the author moves on to how we get energy and gives some advice on how to get the most energy from the available sources. We never really get back to the NLP stuff, although from my involvment in that technology, I recognize that much of the teaching is utilizing NLP principles. Too bad the author doesn't teach us those techniques.

From here we get into more techniques/exercises for working with psychic energy, with a heavy reliance on Eastern Indian terminology with a fair amount of focus on the Huna techniques. For those already familiar with these systems, there is no problem. For others, I will caution you that the terms and the exact details don't matter as much as the author suggests, and as long as your intentions are set properly, you can get the same results with any techniques.

I guess the point that really made me feel like putting the book away was when the author started talking about how the 2 hemispheres of the brain switch dominance every 90 minutes and which nostril you breath through will affect the left-right brain hemispheric balance. Okay, if you really say so.

Finally, on page 67 of this 83 page ebook, we get to what is labeled as the "Ha-Rite" or Huna prayer. This is where the various techniques of the book come together to actually manifest something you desire.

From here, Ku’un Aru covers some information involving dreams and how to use them to your advantage.

The final chapter of the book introduces the reader to something that has only been hinted at previously, which is a different method of training that the author offers to those wanting more. Lots of big claims are made for this training. Claims that are possible, although not necessarily from the training itself, but from the beliefs that the students have regarding the training.

In the end, I felt that the book was a good introduction to a variety of concepts. I came away from it feeling that I had just gone through a trip through memory lane, and seeing some of the mistakes I had made many years ago.

But this isn't to say that the book has nothing to offer. Everyone is on a different part of the path, and for some, this will be the answer to their prayers.

I gave this book a 5 out of 10 rating because of the focus on specific details that are not as important as the intentions behind them. Unless a reader is careful, they may come away worried about which side of their nose they might be breathing through! A workable system, but in the end, a carefully concealed marketing piece designed to sell a more costly training program.
